    05-11-08: Sunday Worship Service in the Sanctuary at 11:00 am. “Power for Living: Receiving the Spirit,” 1 Corinthians 12:3b-1, Speaker: Steve Wong. Happy Mother’s Day ! Kids Choir will be performing. All the children will be joining us in the Sanctuary for the first 15 minute of the worship service. Afterwards, they will be dismissed to their Sunday School classes.

    05-11-08: Sunday School for Children at 11:15 am. The 2-3 year olds will meet in Classroom D. The 4-5 year olds (pre-K and K) are in Classroom B. The 1st-2nd graders are in Classroom A and the 3rd-5th grader will meet in Classroom Room C.

    05-17-08: This season’s Host Family program is coming to a close and we’d like to celebrate! Join us for a potluck dinner on May 17th at 5:30pm in the Gathering Hall. We’ll have a good time of getting to know all of the other host families that participated, as well as play some fun Family games. You are welcome to join the fun if you have participated in the past host families, or are interested in being part of future host families! If you are part of the current host families, please reply via the Evite and indicate what you'll be bringing for the potluck. Otherwise, please RSVP with Winnie Wong (winniesteve@yahoo.com).

  6. 05-18-08: JAM (Jesus and Me) Children’s Ministry Team will be presenting a training session in Classroom C at 9:30 am. Michelle Scilingo will be leading training on How to Supplement Our Lesson.  If you are a Sunday School teacher, a Kids Praise Story Teller, or have some slight remote interest in teaching children, this session is for you. Michelle will give us ideas on how to supplement our lesson with songs and how to supplement our lesson with objects lessons using common materials.  Also, she will give us ideas on how to find resources for teaching our children.     05-25-08: Mary Liu is back for a visit! Mary attended Grace from 12/99 - 10/05, while she was working in the Bay Area.  In 10/04, she went on her first short-term trip to China, and thereafter felt the call to move to China. Having grown up in Taiwan, the thought of relocating to Communist China had never crossed her mind.  Rather, she much preferred to pursue a life of comfort. Nevertheless, she obeyed the call and moved to China a year after she’d first stepped foot there. Come join Mary for lunch at Erik’s Deli Cafe to hear more about her life in China, what the God has been doing in her life and in the lives of those around her, what she's been doing, how you can pray for her, and more!     5-25-08: Grace for All at Leland House in San Francisco – an opportunity to serve by p roviding outreach and preparing meals for residents at an AIDS hospice.   9. 05-31-08: Women’s Ministry Joong Party in the Gathering Hall at 10:00 am. Do you enjoy cooking new dishes or expanding your culinary skills?  How about spending time with friends? Then we would like to invite you to join us in making joong, a glutinous rice pudding typically flavored with beans, sausage, salted pork, a salted yolk and neatly wrapped in bamboo leaves.  Sound yummy? We’ll enjoy a simple lunch during sharing time plus take a few joongs home to family and friends. Space is limited to 20 participants and a material fee of $10 is requested by May 17 th.   10. 06-01-08: Sunday Worship Service in the Sanctuary at 11:00 am. Guest Speaker: Steve Hong, “Bridging Stories to God’s Story”. Our guest speaker is a native San Franciscan, who was an electrical engineer before becoming a campus minister of Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC) at Stanford University in 1993. In 1999, Steve graduated from Talbot Seminary and began serving as an English Ministry pastor in a Chinese church. In 2001, Steve moved to San Francisco to pastor an ABC church plant within a multi-cultural church network. Then Steve apprenticed under former Western Seminary Dean, Dr. Eckman, and began helping train pastors and leaders in the area of healthy emotions. Steve married his long-time friend Cathy in 2002 and they have a 2-year old named Jason. They both joined Epic Movement, the Asian-American ministry of CCC in 2007 where Steve helps pastor and equip Epic Movement staff for contextualized ministry.
